Dig or die Is a futuristic 2D sandbox that is often compared to Starbound. Challenge accepted. I will try to get around this comparison.
One cold winter morning ... when the window is + 3 ° C, and there are 5 days left until the New Year ... Steam recommended me a game whose name you could already read from the title, description or right here, painfully similar to ... another game that everyone know. A small difference, entertainment or hellish torments for the player will be a realistic physical model. However, it only has a relation to land and water. Although the physics of water was in Star too ... It's impossible.
Already in the first half hour of the game, DoD и Starbound you find so many parallels that you start to wonder if this was done on purpose ...
Natural phenomena are shown quite accurately here, because of a downpour, for example, your house can be easily flooded. In Starbound, it can be flooded only by your negligence.
In the description from the developers there are all the same "explore, fight, create and build defenses." Just like in Starbound ... And Terraria ... And a couple of similar games ...
At the center of the story is an employee of CRAFT & Co. You were selling automatic construction tools across the galaxy when your spaceship crashed onto a hostile planet. You must use your own tools and local resources to build whatever you need to survive and leave this planet.
The game features the following qualities:
Goal: Survive massive attacks every night by building strong walls and placing your turrets wisely.
Physics: build with your head, otherwise your buildings will collapse! And you'll need them to defend your base, or build bridges and tall towers to access remote locations.
The water cycle: rain, flow, underground rivers and lakes ... Be careful during heavy rains, or you will be surprised by a sudden rise in the water level!
Fun right from the start: no need to dig terribly slowly, it is better to focus on exploration, battles and the main goal.
Many minerals for excavation, plant for gathering, items, weapons и turrets for crafting, and monsters for battles!
Here there are no swords and magic! This is a real sci-fi game with fast and fun laser cannon battles! [pew-pew-bang-bang]
Clever monsters: they will find the best way to attack your defense. And be careful: even if they can't get through the walls, they can still destroy them!
