This is another indie 2D sandbox game in Terraria style, but the game is special. First of all, it stands out among other games of this genre with very beautiful graphics, as for games of this level. There are no conventional pixels in the style of games from consoles from the 90s of the 20th century, it has quite beautiful animation, very beautiful lighting, stunning landscapes and a rich color palette. So this game is worth watching just because of the graphics. In addition to the standard attributes of such games, such as the presence of a pickaxe, an ax, weapons and other things from the "Survivor" set, the game has a separate place for light and shadow. Here it is not easy attributes of the game world, here your life and death depend on them and the absence of a spare torch or battery for a flashlight will make you nervous more than once in attempts to discern what is happening in the pitch darkness. The rest of the gameplay is pretty standard. What else awaits you: an advanced and complex crafting system with many recipes, weapons and armor, tools and, most importantly, the PLOT! Yes, yes, in this game, unlike its kind, there is a coherent plot and story of the world in which you find yourself. You will learn the plot by scraps and scraps of information found in the process of exploring the world.
A little about the plot.
Your ship is orbiting a planet called Iluna. A serious breakdown has occurred and the on-board computer awakens you from cryo-sleep and you are forced to go to the planet in an escape capsule. The capsule breaks upon landing (who would have thought it would be different) and all you have is a basic set of tools, the simplest weapon in the form of a pistol and a scanty supply of ammunition for it, a few torches, a flashlight and a Combinator, about which separately a few words. The combinator is a nano-technological device, thanks to which you can survive in a hostile world, and, having in hand blueprints and the necessary resources, create most of the items. He is only one, so take care of him like the apple of your eye! The planet is almost completely immersed in darkness and the day is not particularly different from the night, and bloodthirsty monsters from another layer of reality are hidden in the darkness. You have to get the necessary resources to repair the ship and leave this inhospitable place.
In order not to spoil the impression of the passage, I will not cite plot spoilers here, because it is much more interesting to find out for yourself the entire exciting history of this world, right? I advise you to read Darkout wiki, where you can learn more about the plot (yes, spoilers, but read at your own risk), crafting and gameplay.
Due to an incomprehensible bug in the game engine, at the moment it is not yet possible to play as a male character, since at the slightest attempt to move in any direction during the game, the game crashes, so play as a pretty girl (it was originally intended).The new version of the game has not been tested, so if the bug remains, write in the comments or in my LAN.
