Starbound

Description

Starbound is a new game under active development by the independent Chucklefish team of great guys and girls. The game is expected to be released in late summer 2012, but we will likely need some extra time for the game to work properly.

Worlds and biomes
Planets in Starbound are fully generated and filled with unique content. No two planets are alike. The terrain of each planet is generated along with weather conditions, gravity, difficulty level, plant life, activity and appearance of alien creatures.
Their size is not confirmed, although the game engine supports infinite size.
Each planet in the game has a threat level, from 1 to 100. Planets with a threat level of 100 will be difficult even for players with the final rig.
It is confirmed that you will be able to rename your home world. Currently confirmed biomes on planets: Forest, Arctic, Tentacles, Desert.
The planets will have different diurnal cycles, with some planets having an eternal night or an endless day.

Station
The space station at Starbound is big and full of possibilities. On your travels, you will find ways to fix and improve it, returning it to its former glory. You will need to recruit a crew, conduct scientific research, catch rare animals and gain access to numerous equipment. From a factory capable of making robots to laboratories where you can study and train captured monsters, the station has everything you need to explore the universe.
See the strange tree? Find out what it is! Maybe you will discover something important for yourself. For any researcher, joint discovery is of great importance. The game contains a full co-op (Invite your friends! Form an expedition!) You can also record your results in an electronic journal. That's not all, each planet has unique coordinates in the Universe so that you can share the results with your friends on the Internet!

Research
Research is great, but everything needs a place. That's why we let you make your whole planet yours! When you make the planet your home, a whole new element of gameplay opens up. This planet becomes unique at your disposal. Can you feel how the weather is changing? Create a weather control center! Don't like the area? Terraform! Every aspect of the planet is under your control. Once you are satisfied with everything, you can start filling the planet's population with those living creatures that you have already met and take care of their existence! They have their own needs and wants and are not shy about asking for your help if they need it.
